Anna Holter
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anna Holter – the “great hope of Munich’s dance scene” (Peter Boenisch in the Sueddeutsche Zeitung about Zooming – a solo for three, 2001) – was born in Stockholm, Sweden and began Ballet and drama lessons at a young age. At 11 years of age she added jazz dance to her repertoire. Something that had begun as a hobby quickly took up more and more of her free time – including further instruction in classical ballet, contemporary dance and hip hop. However dance would remain a hobby for some time. Not until she had graduated from high school did Anna Holter decide to turn her hobby into her profession. As a result she came to Munich to study at the Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance in 1995 – graduating in 1997. Since Anna has worked as a dancer and choreograph in Germany, Sweden, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. Furthermore she regularly works as visiting lecturer at Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilian University and teaches regularly at the Theaterraum drama school in Munich.
In April 2005 she organised the Swedish dance evening Ikväll svenskt in i-camp/neues theater münchen, to which she invited Charlotta Öfverholm and her comapny Jus de la Vie from Stockholm.
In summer 2005 she assisted the choreographer Amir Hosseinpour on the production Zoroastre (Jean-Philippe Rameau; Direction: Pierre Audi),at the Drottningholms Slotsteater in Stockholm. The success of this production led to invitations to the Amsterdam and to the Holland Festival in spring 2005. In summer the production was filmed for, among others, Swedish television.
In Autumn 2005 Anna Holter toured with the Bayerische Staatsoper to Tokyo and Yokohama.
In spring 2006 she was invited to the Moderna Dansteatern in Stockholm with Meeting with Oneself and as the German representative to the dance festival Danse a Lille in France.
Anna Holter has worked as a dancer with the following choreographers (selection): Nicole Caccivio, Keegan-Dolan, Mia Lawrence, Charlotta Överholm, Irina Pauls, Johanna Richter, Ramses Sigl, Itztoc Kovac, Milli Bitterli, Rosemary Butcher, Amir Hosseinpour.
